On 17th October, EuropeActive was invited to attend the #BeActive Awards Ceremony in Sofia (the current European Capital of Sport) in the presence of the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Mr. Tibor Navracsics. The 2018 Awards Gala celebrated inspiring contributions to promoting active lifestyles in Europe by awarding people through 3 different categories: workplace, local hero and education.

The day after, the EU Sport Unit together with European Week of Sport partners and coordinators gathered for discussing the results of the 2018 edition of the Week and what it has to be improved for 2019. This debriefing session underlined how the Week keeps growing in terms of participation and its media impact.

All partners thanked the new countries participating in the Week (from Balkans and Eastern Europe) which without receiving direct funds from Commission made an important contribution to spread the BeActive message.

For EuropeActive was the occasion to present the National Fitness Days campaign 2018 and to discuss the 2019 edition with the aim to build up new partnerships.
