The European Vocational Skills Week 2017 is organised by the European Commission and will take place during 20th-24th November. It will offer more than 1000 events across Europe. The aim of the European Skills Week is to increase awareness of vocational education and training and opportunities it provides.

EuropeActive will participate to the 8th Conference of HEPA Europe on November 15 to 17, 2017 in Zagreb, Croatia. The event is hosted by the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb and cosponsored by WHO/Europe. The conference will address the main theme of “Modern approaches to physical activity promotion and measurements”.

The 1st FIBO Business Summit Africa was conducted on Wednesday 8 November in the Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, South Africa. It brought together key stakeholders in the fitness, wellness and health industry to share expert knowledge in order to help the African health & fitness market to grow.

On 19th October 2017, EuropeActive EU affairs team attended the Conference organised by the European FOOD programme at the European Parliament with a key focus on healthy habits at workplace.

On the 11th October, EuropeActive joined the #BeActive Awards in Marseille, the current European capital of sport. Commissioner Navracsics showed his appreciation to the National Coordinating Bodies and the Official Partners for the success of the 2017 European Week of Sport. 

On the 22nd of September 2017, the European Commission's Seminar on Healthy Lifestyle in Tartu ended with the publication of the Tartu Call for Healthy Lifestyles from the European Commissioners Navracsics, Andriukaitis and Hogan. Overall, the Call includes 15 important actions that have to be taken in a fight with a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet.

EuropeActive is organising the National Fitness Days within the European Week of Sport 2017 (EWoS), a European Commission initiative which promote sport and physical activity and encourages Europeans to #BEACTIVE on a regular basis, regardless of age, background and fitness level.

The National Fitness Days represent the contribution of the fitness sector to the EWoS: it will be an opportunity to present the economic and social potential of fitness.
